Entry DescriptionThe Dong'an Lake Sports Park has been designed for the 31st Summer Universiade. The so called FISU World University Games to be hosted in Chengdu, China.
The brand-new sports park will be the main venue, offering one large outdoor stadium and three enclosed sports halls, as well as connecting parks and sports grounds. Lighting played an essential role in staging the venue for the event as well as everyday functions afterwards.
Low key as well as highly dynamic lighting has been integrated to stadium facades, connecting walkways and landscape according to the architects and client’s futuristic vision for the park.
Sustainability ApproachAll lighting fixtures for this project were locally sourced to minimize the carbon footprint of lengthy supply chains.
Strict Lighting Power Densities values of typically max. 8W/m2 were considered and being followed for this project.
