Entry Description

The industry’s first modular smart lighting control system for homeowners wires into a standard junction box like any other light switch but acts as a receptor for any company device, including both smart and simple switches, dimmers, motion sensors, nightlights and more. The screwless faceplate snaps on over the light switch–no tools required–and is easy to remove to change switches without dealing with wires or professional help, saving homeowners thousands of dollars in maintenance and upkeep. The products seamlessly integrate with the company’s Smart Application and allow users to control lighting on their phone, through Amazon’s Alexa, Samsung SmartThings, Google Assistant and more.
The Smart Application works in tandem with the Plug-and-Play products to serve as an extension of a homeowner’s everyday life. Its smart technology is an energy efficient option that simplifies the home lighting experience through its schedule and groups features and gives users the ability to control their systems from anywhere. Users can set up timers and motion sensors to keep intruders away while they’re out of town or at the office, giving homeowners peace of mind when it comes to home security. The app also helps homeowners elevate their lighting settings through its scenes feature. Whether it be date night, dinner time, movie night or bedtime, scenes can customize the mood lighting.
Sustainability Approach

The company’s leading technology and products, now installed in one out of every six new homes in America, are committed to creating a sustainable lighting ecosystem for their customers. The company’s system holistically reduces and prevents waste, and its packaging is 100% recyclable, eliminating 15.2 million pieces of garbage. The company takes this a step further by employing digital instructions in its set up kits, preventing 2 million sheets to date and 13.4 million by 2025. Deako has also invested in manufacturing efficiency, which has reduced their plastic usage by 15%. As a result of thoughtful planning and design, Deako has reduced its CO2 emissions by over 400% per ton-mile and saves consumers $161 a year by reducing energy consumption.
