Entry Description

Yale-SML-Nave_001: A new circulation desk with ornate original millwork marks the North Aisle renovated lounge.

Yale-SML-Nave_002: Articulating each end of the lounge, uplights with a grazing asymmetric distribution are shielded from view and illuminate wood-paneled walls, reflecting a warm, soft glow.

Yale-SML-Nave_003: Simple, elegant, customized table and floor lamps with translucent shades and 2700K LED lamps illuminate the renovated surfaces and provide task lighting, while complementing the historic room.

Yale-SML-Nave_004: Existing restored pendants are relamped with 2700K LEDs.

Yale-SML-Nave_005: Diagonally across the Nave, is the new gallery. The vaulted ceiling is illuminated by pairs of fixtures with floodlamps mounted high up on the back of the columns bringing drama and light into the new exhibit area.

Yale-SML-Nave_006: This reflected light off the historic vaulted ceiling provides the gallery’s ambient light through the open ceiling grid.

Yale-SML-Nave_007: Fixtures mounted under the free-standing display cases organize the architectural elements, highlight the stone floor and are a counterpoint to the reflected light off the arches.
