Entry Description

The cdf Haikou International Duty Free City is located on the Northwest coast of Haikou, Hainan province, China. Dubbed the world largest single duty free shop in the world with more than 800 international and domestic brands, it opened on October 28th, 2022.
First part: Facade
With its unique geographical location, the architectural design team created the cdf Haikou International Duty Free City with natural elements from the surrounding areas that are integrated into the architectural design which is based on the concept of the "Auspicious Clouds in Jiuzhou,the Crown of the South China Sea". The landscape merges symbiotically into the overall architecture with natural and elegant wavy curves made of metal panels and glass curtain wall allowing natural light into the building where necessary.
Second part :Interior
The interior design team together with the theme atrium team created a colorful interior space inspired by the infinite world of surprise and the design concept of "infinite exploration".
The lighting design team fully absorbed the language of the entire interior design and planned different illuminances and color temperatures based on its three major parts: the central “Grand Shore” and its two wings, the “Celebration of Dance” on the North and “Paradise Garden” on the South.
