Entry Description

For the Dream Tower Integrated Resort there were two prominent internationally renowned interior designers commissioned, one with solid Casino and Retail experience, the other with extensive Hospitality, and Food & Beverage knowledge. As the lighting design consultant it was our remit to satisfy all the different requirements for the different spaces and their different design language and uses. As the interior designs were so different from area to area and outlet to outlet, there was no over arching lighting design theme. What we can say is we made the effort to keep the down-lighting as sympathetic as possible to the interior designs. Our objective was to integrate the down-lights into the ceilings and interior design features so that they didn't appear obvious. Cove lighting when it is used enhances ceiling heights and layers spaces giving them added impact. All areas are dimmable and the entire installation is LED. All spaces are controlled via a dimming system and have a minimum of 6 scenes per area.
Sustainability Approach

All luminaires specified and installed are LED. The project was supplied by the Korean brand ALTO Lighting who provided alternatives to the specification. As the hotel Operator is Hyatt, we adhered to their specific lighting and sustainability guidelines. All front of house areas are dimmable and thus by design have additional energy savings per scene as no areas are run at 100% load output during operational hours (100% capacity only being used during cleaning and maintenance periods).
