Entry Description

The project is located in the Yueshang Aolai Super City Commercial Complex, witnessing the development of Wuxi’s Huishan District. The Ferris wheel observation vehicle is 60 meters high, with 32.25 meters high of main shaft, 50.5 meters’ turntable’s diameter, 36 pods, and 75,110 point light sources overall.
In this project, the designer is committed to creating a distinctive regional landmark image by means of attracting investment, latter-part operation and image publicity. The brightness of light could be changed under the control system. And its lovely curve echoes with the surrounding environment, achieving an overall dynamic effect. In addition, it could present diverse characters at different times, which allows it to not only satisfy daily energy-saving requirements but also display various theme contents on significant holidays.
The Ferris wheel, as a landmark of Huishan, provides light and atmosphere to travelers and passerby under the theme of “a myriad twinkling lights of a city”. At the days when significant festivals are coming, the light show could not only display holiday-related themes like National Day and New Year’s, but can also create a number of dynamic scenes that highlight Jiangnan Wu culture and local Huishan features.
Sustainability Approach

In response to the request for environmental protection and emission reduction, the simulated fireworks show with dynamic light and shadow is also put on the stage. Different shades of fireworks bring strong visual shocks to people, which look like changing kaleidoscopes, highlighting the atmosphere of festival on the one hand, and decreasing the needs to set off fireworks.
After being put on hold for more than a decade, the glowing “Eye of Huishan” stands in for the energized locals, extending a heartfelt invitation to everyone to come and visit the thriving new city.
