Entry Description

Sound diffuser is an acoustics panel use to diffuse the harsh sound reflection to 2 direction. The problem of conventional sound diffuser it create dark surface, create a gloom music listening room. The second problem in installing conventional lighting is luminaire will interfere the sound traveling to or diffuse from the diffuser. Our idea is to integrate light and sound design element into one to create soft glow atmosphere with beautiful sound environment for wellness feeling in listening music without ear or eye fatigue.

First, the integration between diffuse lighting pixels and the Helmholtz panels blends perfectly to create an unique interior elements. Lighting pixels were generated by using sound software and foreshadowing the electronic music equalizer bar. Second, gaps in the acoustic diffuser was used as a lighting panel without reducing the acoustic diffuser function. The control system ensure a full integration between lighting and audio in the music room.

Sustainability Approach

The Acoustics Diffuser's Lighting is made from FSC wood with low energy LED, Listen to music or in music studio do not need a certain lux to perform visual task. The low level and soft glow light distributed at the ceiling consume a very low energy compared to conventional luminaire.
